National Education Fund (NEF)

Created in 1984, the purpose of the Fund is to promote scholarship aid to needy children and to conduct education programs enhancing the quality of life.

Sigma Public Education and Research Foundation (SPEAR)

SPEAR promotes the social, civic, cultural, economic, and eduational progress of at risk families and communities. Established in 1995, SPEAR's mission is fulfilled through community service, public education, advocacy, and social science research.


Project Reassurance

A health education effort developed by Sigma Gamma Rho and the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation to educate young mothers about the health of their babies.

Wee Savers

National project to educate young people about how to use their personal finances. The program sponsors trips to financial institutions, seminars on finance, and learning projects.


Mwanamugimu Essay Contest

The primary goal is to increase the knowledge of young people about the historical and contemporary development of African nations. The secondary goal of the program seeks to improve the writing and research skills of students. Chapters sponsor local essay contests that usually include awards programs. Regional contests are also held, with winning essays announced at regional conferences.

Operation Big Book Bag

This program's aim is to get school supplies to needy children and to tutor and mentor these children.

Project Africa

A program to provide African women, who produce more than 75% of the food grown on the continent, with grain grinders. This program is in conjunction with Africare.

Judy B. Davis Bone Marrow Recruitment Program

The purpose of this program is to recruit donors and to educate citizens of the need for donors, especially those of minority decent.

Rhomania

The annual, financial, and cultural project of Sigma Gamma Rho focused on educating members of the community about current issues.
